What IPAF can do for you!
It is sometimes asked of CPC/Qualicare why we recommend that GP’s sign provider contracts via IPAF.
The IPA Foundation seeks to enter into agreements with Funders to promote cost effective, quality, accessible healthcare delivered through the portal of a family doctor.
In its negotiations with Medical Funders, we address elimination of waste, fraud and abuse from whatever quarter within the Managed Healthcare delivery system and pledge to reduce the cost of healthcare to the South African beneficiaries whilst improving the remuneration to the Contracted Providers and signatories of IPAF contracts.
IPAF continually strives to identify contracts with enhanced payment modules for IPA Providers who are prepared to subject themselves to Peer Review and Peer Mentoring.
The IPA Foundation seeks to ensure that any risk which the contracted provider is required to assume will be both acceptable a manageable, as well as monitored by IPAF and commencement with the remuneration payable in respect thereof.
IPAF puts pressure on Funders to prevent them from unilaterally changing the terms and conditions of any signed contract.
IPAF ensures that reports generated for Contracted Providers are understandable, relevant and within accepted parameters and benchmarks. Furthermore we remain cognizant of any special, usual or unique circumstances which may be regarded as an acceptable reason for any abnormal profiles.
Contracted Providers are always afforded adequate time to remedy any abnormal profiles before proceeding with formal Peer Review.
All information obtained pertaining to Contracted Providers, its practice and patients are held in the strictest confidence at all times.
IPAF seeks to ensure that funders educate their beneficiaries on benefits and rules of participation in new arrangements with Contracted IPAF Doctors.
We continually strive to bring new patients into the system and not merely receive patients as a result of broker gurn.
Provider’s administrative duties are kept to a minimum, and where possible we negotiate enhanced fees for the use of electronic systems and program.
Finally we recognise the importance of individual doctors belonging to their regional IPA’s and seek, in the first instance, to appoint such IPA’s to manage Provider Contracts and communications within its date to day running.
Non IPA Contracted Providers may also deliver services agreed to with Funders, whoever, incentive payments will be absent and the non-Contracted Provider needs to nominate a regional IPA as his Peer Review body.
With all of the above having been explained, there cannot be more compelling reasons for you to support IPAF fully, and eagerly accept their contracts and contracted patients.
