LOCKDOWN ALERT LEVEL ONE: How it affects our GP, Dentists, Physios, OTs, etc

The regulations affecting behaviour during the lockdown have been amended and we have edited them for you and quote the most relevant parts pertinent to our doctors, dentists, Physios and OTs

In the amendment to the regulations in term of the DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT OF 2002, visits to the GP and other health care practitioners are subject to the restriction below:

Clause 74 of the amendment:

(1) All visits by members of the public to health establishments and facilities are prohibited except to receive treatment or medication, subject to strict adherence to health protocols. This means that ONLY PATIENTS SEEKING TREATMENT OR MEDICATION MAY VISIT YOUR PRACTICES and no other person including pharmaceutical and other representatives may do so.

Other Clauses 66 of the amendment:

This deals with the Curfew which is now between midnight and 4 am and for which a special new permit needs to be held. This is important for doctors to be able to produce, if called out during these hours. It is featured the end of this article.

PPE: Face masks mandatory (The doctor bears the legal liability to enforce this).

Health & safety plans: These are still required for all practices as is the need for COVID-19 Compliance Officers remain in place. Please study the regulation notice to ensure that you remain compliant. (Ref Government Gazette number 43725 of 18th Sept 2020.)
